Though penned by Dickens over 150 years ago, those words could just as easily have been written during the past year. Economic challenges abound, yet new entrepreneurs are springing up in interesting places. The stock market took a dive, but we elected a President who ran on a one word slogan of "Hope." Businesses fold and call it quits, and others embark on new ventures. We all have choices to make. Will we dwell in a mindset that prefaces every statement with "in these tough economic times," or will we decide to be the ones who see opportunity amidst the challenges?
This past spring, I, MIMI, made the bold decision to move my painting studio and gallery, art classes, and reflexology practice out of my home and into downtown Falmouth. Some have looked at me and questioned "you're starting a business in these tough economic times?" to which I respond "I choose to think of it as riding the new tide of hope into the future." I may end up eating these words at some point down the line, but I really, truly believe that we have a choice as to whether we face life looking at the gloom and doom forecasts or decide to be the ones who hold our heads up high.
Fashion Feng Shui® has been an ongoing source of support for me as I expand my art and reflexology business. Although I'm most comfortable in torn jeans and a tank top, every time I get dressed I remind myself to express my creative soul by wearing Water energy design elements and to attract all the prosperity that I know is in store for me by wearing Metal design elements. So far so good!
Note: It has been so rewarding to see Mimi blossom since her Fashion Feng Shui® Consultation. I love that she is not afraid to show up boldly - no matter what the Dow is doing.
